Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, anywhere between 7:30am – 5:30pm according to physician schedule

• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
• Medical Assistant diploma/certification
• BLS/CPR certification
• Must have experience with EKGs
• Experience with any EMR/EHR required (practice utilizes Greenway Health)
• Very busy cardiology clinic: must be able to work in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:
*Role is both clinical and administrative/front desk*

• Welcome patients and prepare them for their visit
• Escort patients to exam rooms according to established protocols
• Obtain and document heigh, weight, and vital signs
• Perform EKGs
• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain appropriate chart documentation
• Prepare and restock exam rooms, sample areas, and physician workstations
• Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the office
• Identify delays or workflow concerns and communicate them to the manager
• Report equipment issues promptly
• Perform assigned opening and/or closing responsibilities
• Greet and check-in patients
• Collect copays
• Verify referrals and required documentation
• Scan insurance cards, identification, prescriptions, and other documents
• Schedule and reschedule appointments
• Assist with incoming telephone calls
• Schedule follow-up appointments
• Provide patient instructions and appropriate paperwork
• Provide medication and instruction printouts
• Provide orders/supplies for outside testing when applicable
• Help ensure patients understand their next steps before leaving the office
