Truck Driver

Description


Pennington Seed is searching for an experienced Truck Driver in our Lebanon, Oregon location. This position requires qualified candidates to be safety conscious and able to perform required functions in a productive manner, working with tight schedules and deadlines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates a truck that transports cargo to and from specified destinations. The size of the truck is more than 3 tons.
• Haul grass seed or packaging materials to and from Pennington plant and other seed warehouses. Oversee loading of the truck and secure load appropriately. May include overnight destinations.
• Receive hauling instructions from the Production Manager, verify load
  details, complete, and return all documentation in a timely manner.
• Record travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations. Submit logs to the Safety Coordinator on a regular basis.
• Inspect and maintain truck to ensure safety compliance, proper operating condition, and orderly presentation.
• Able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years driving experience and satisfactory driving record.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Experience hauling grass seed or experience in the grass seed industry
• 5+ years of general truck driving experience
• Current Oregon CDL Class A

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full-time position
• Overtime and overnight travel are required as needed.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

POSITION INFORMATION

• This position pays $27.00 - 28.00 per hour depending on experience
