RN - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU

Overview RN - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU role with a focus on influencing patient care through collaborative relationships and participation in hospital initiatives. This position supports decisions that elevate patient outcomes and nursing practice. Responsibilities Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, focusing on critically ill patients with congenital heart disease and/or post-surgical care. Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain a comprehensive plan of care that is individualized, family-centered and holistic. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement. Maintain high-quality age-specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult populations. Support the mission, vision and values of the organization. Apply scientific knowledge; use a variety of equipment; and perform multiple technical procedures. Advocate for patients and provide consistent education to patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Demonstrate and apply technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. RN – Registered Nurse Associate Degree in Nursing Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. Congenital heart experience and/or high-acuity PICU medical-surgical experience preferred.
