Sol & Stone is hiring experienced and hospitality-driven Front of House team members for our new elevated bar and restaurant located in the heart of Chicago’s Loop.

We are looking for polished, dependable, energetic team members who understand the importance of warm service, strong communication, and creating a memorable guest experience. Sol & Stone will serve a mix of business professionals, after-work guests, lunch crowds, cocktail guests, and evening diners, so we are looking for people who can bring both professionalism and personality to the floor.

About the Role

Front of House team members will be responsible for helping deliver a smooth, elevated, and welcoming guest experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave. Ideal candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment, have strong attention to detail, and be able to work well as part of a team.

For hourly Front of House roles, previous restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience is preferred. We are also open to training the right candidates who have a great attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in hospitality.

For Manager and Assistant Manager roles, candidates should have prior leadership experience in a restaurant, bar, lounge, or hospitality setting. Managers will help lead daily service, support and train the team, maintain service standards, handle guest concerns, and assist with smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Providing warm, polished, and professional guest service
• Greeting guests and creating a welcoming first impression
• Maintaining knowledge of food, cocktails, wine, beer, and service standards
• Supporting lunch, happy hour, dinner, and evening service
• Working closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team
• Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas
• Following opening, closing, and side work procedures
• Communicating clearly with guests, team members, and managers
• Handling high-volume service with professionalism and urgency
• Supporting a team-first culture

For Manager and Assistant Manager candidates, responsibilities may also include:

• Leading shifts and supporting daily FOH operations
• Supervising servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, barbacks, and support staff
• Assisting with training, coaching, and service standards
• Managing guest concerns and ensuring hospitality recovery when needed
• Supporting scheduling, shift planning, and staff communication
• Helping maintain consistency, accountability, and a polished service environment

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Professional, polished, and hospitality-focused attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable serving a business, happy hour, cocktail, and dinner crowd
• Basset and Food Handler certifications preferred or required depending on role
• Management candidates should have previous supervisory or leadership experience

Sol & Stone is an elevated American bar and restaurant in Chicago’s Loop, designed for great cocktails, polished hospitality, and a vibrant downtown dining experience. Located at 216 W. Jackson Boulevard, Sol & Stone is built for lunch, after-work drinks, dinner, events, and a lively bar scene.

Compensation:

Compensation varies by role and experience. Tipped positions are eligible for tips. Manager and Assistant Manager compensation will be discussed based on experience and position level.
