Job Title: Structural Steel MIG / Flux-Core Welder Build What Shapes Skylines
Join a team that fabricates the backbone of major construction projects across the country. As a Structural Steel Welder, you’ll work on large-scale beams, columns, rails, and stair systems—playing a critical role in creating structures that stand the test of time.
What You’ll Do- Weld plates to beams and columns for large structural steel assemblies used in major builds nationwide
- Perform high-quality MIG and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on rails, stairs, and structural components
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings with accuracy
- Measure and verify dimensions precisely using tape measures and layout tools
- Follow full fabrication processes including cutting, fitting, welding, and prep for finishing
- Inspect your work to ensure strong, clean welds that meet structural standards
- Work alongside fabricators, detailers, and shop teams to keep projects on track
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
- Minimum 1 year of MIG and/or FCAW welding experience (or equivalent welding school training)
- Experience working with structural steel (beams, columns, stairs, rails)
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols confidently
- Strong measuring skills—accuracy matters
- Solid work ethic and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fabrication shop
- Structural steel or welding certifications/training
- Experience with large, heavy steel components
- Familiarity with full fabrication workflow from raw steel to finished product

Work Environment
This is a full-time, first-shift position, typically working 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, with a mandatory 49-hour workweek. The facility operates like a large steel mill and focuses on structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication on a grand scale. You work with large structural beams and heavy steel components where welds must be precise and structurally sound. The shop is equipped for cutting, bending, welding, and preparing steel for coating and final on-site erection. You will work in an industrial fabrication environment with the associated noise, equipment, and safety protocols typical of a structural steel shop.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
