Senior Area Manager, SME Banking, Institutional Banking Group

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Area Manager to lead our SME Banking franchise in Hsinchu. The incumbent will be responsible for driving sustainable business growth through the acquisition of New-to-Bank (NTB) customers, deepening existing client relationships, and expanding wallet share through corporate wealth, treasury, and cash management solutions.

Leading a team of Relationship Managers (RMs), the Area Manager will build a high-performance sales culture, develop talent, and work closely with product partners to deliver integrated banking solutions to SME clients across the Hsinchu market.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Revenue Delivery

• Develop and execute the SME growth strategy for the Hsinchu market.
• Lead the team to achieve portfolio growth, revenue, profitability, and asset quality targets.
• Drive acquisition of NTB customers across key industry segments.
• Strengthen market penetration and increase DBS' share of wallet among SME clients.
• Monitor sales pipelines and client opportunities to ensure consistent business momentum.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

• Drive proactive prospecting and relationship-building activities.
• Coach RMs in identifying and converting high-potential NTB opportunities.
• Engage key clients and prospects to strengthen senior-level relationships.
• Act as escalation point for strategic and complex client situations.

Cross-Selling & Solutioning

• Champion a "One Bank" approach by partnering with product specialists across:
• Corporate Wealth
• Treasury & Markets
• Cash Management
• Trade Finance
• Lending Solutions
• Commercial Property-backed Financing
• Ensure RMs adopt solution-based selling rather than product-led selling.
• Drive fee income growth through treasury, wealth and transaction banking solutions.

People Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Relationship Managers.
• Create a high-performance and client-centric sales culture.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions, joint client visits and pipeline reviews.
• Identify and develop future leaders within the team.
• Drive employee engagement, retention and succession planning.

Risk & Governance

• Ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal governance requirements.
• Maintain strong portfolio quality and credit discipline.
• Partner closely with Credit, Compliance and Operations teams.
• Foster a strong risk culture while balancing growth ambitions.

Market Intelligence

• Maintain deep understanding of the Hsinchu business ecosystem, including technology, manufacturing, supply chain and emerging growth sectors.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends and client needs.
• Translate market intelligence into actionable business opportunities.
