In the 2026–2027 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will comprise four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida: KIPP Impact Academy : Kindergarten–8th grade KIPP Bold City High School : 9th–12th grade For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. K-8 Staff : 7:30 am–4:30 pm K-8 Students : 8:00 am–3:30 pm Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30 pm High School Staff : 6:45 am–3:45 pm High School Students : 7:15 am–2:30 pm Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30 pm. Every Wednesday is a student early release day, allowing teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. This does not include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal. We will employ approximately 300 full-time staff members and seek educators and colleagues that represent our core values of high expectations, growth mindset, commitment to team, trust, joy, and sustainability.

POSITION OVERVIEW

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2026–27 school year. The LS ensures compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs), teaches small groups, provides support facilitation in general education settings, and works with families around the special education process. The LS helps facilitate the RTI process with staff, leads regular meetings around student IEPs, and works directly with students to ensure IEP goals are met. All Learning Specialists are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are outlined by the School Principal.

SERVICE DELIVERY & INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT

At the high school level, Learning Specialists provide support through multiple models based on student needs and caseload assignments: Push-In Support : Co-teach a general education classroom to provide accommodations, differentiation, and academic support aligned to IEP goals. Pull-Out Support : Provide small‑group instruction in a resource setting for targeted intervention and skill development. Learning Strategies Course : Teach a scheduled class focused on IEP goal progress, academic skills, and postsecondary readiness. Learning Specialists may serve in one or a combination of these roles.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting salary for a first‑year Learning Specialist is $50,000. Health benefits (medical, dental, and vision). Individual short‑term and long‑term disability insurance. 403(b) retirement program with a company match. All lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.

• The salary offered in the DocuSign does not include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. For instructional staff, historical average of $11,000 plus TSIA stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree. Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K-12). At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement. Commitment to racial and educational equity for all children. Passing a background check, as required by law. In accordance with Florida House Bill 531, this position requires a background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Florida Reading Endorsement or reading competency coursework in progress. Additional certifications in K‑6 or other subject areas the LS supports. Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement.
