About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking skills Self-motivated Description: The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1, and at times 3:1. There is support from unit secretaries and techs, depending on census. Key equipment includes Impella devices, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires a commitment to 36 hours weekly with a floating policy in place in rotation with core staffing. The following certifications are mandatory: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH. Dress code requires scrubs of any color, but excludes denim, capris, or camo. Procedures commonly performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. This environment promotes teamwork and offers flexible scheduling options. The department has received recognition such as the Daisy Award for outstanding contributions to patient care. Additionally, staff participate in charitable initiatives, including making blankets for hospice patients.
