As a Lab - Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in patient diagnostics by ensuring the safe and precise collection of blood samples. Responsibilities:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures to ensure specimen accuracy.

Explain procedures clearly to patients to foster trust and reduce anxiety.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with confidentiality standards.

Support a safe and professional environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection control procedures.

Assist in troubleshooting specimen collection issues and escalate concerns appropriately.

Work collaboratively with team members across multiple clinical sites, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Ensure timely and efficient patient service, especially during high-volume periods.

Promote a positive image of the healthcare facility through professional conduct and exemplary customer service.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric patient collections.

Proven proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.

Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, specimen handling, and infection control procedures.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions based on established procedures.

Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (for travel between multiple sites).

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Proficiency in data entry and documentation processes.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant certification or related medical training.

Phlebotomy certification preferred but not mandatory.

Experience working in a Patient Service Center or retail healthcare environment.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.

Knowledge of state-specific licensing or certification requirements for phlebotomists.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) a plus.

At least two years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.

Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Other Requirements:

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and team members.

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, perform blood draws, and handle specimen processing.

Must list home city/commute time on your resume and reside within a 20-25 minute proximity to the worksite to ensure punctuality.

Reliable transportation for travel between multiple clinical sites; personal vehicle preferred as transportation via rideshare may not be reliable.

Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety policies and procedures is essential.
