Your future role at a glance Location: Austin, TX Facility: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin Department/Specialty: CVOR Schedule: Full Time | Days shift | Monday-Friday 6:45 am-3:15pm | On-call requirements | Part of the pod system with guaranteed hours How you’ll make an impact in this role Direct daily CVOR operations by coordinating shift schedules, managing resources, and overseeing the workflow of surgical suites to ensure seamless cardiovascular procedures. Lead the preparation of sterile and non-sterile environments; provide expert surgical assistance to surgeons, including instrument handling and active support with hemostasis. Oversee and assist in the safe transport, positioning, and draping of patients while maintaining rigorous organization and meticulous tracking of instrument counts throughout the procedure. Drive excellence within the surgical team by providing essential input on hiring, training, and performance evaluations, while directly mentoring staff in their professional development. Ensure all surgical suites are fully equipped with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining high standards of readiness for complex cardiovascular cases. What minimum qualifications you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross or Heart Association accepted. One or more of the following: Certified Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Surgical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Surgical Tech obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
