Staff Accountant / Accounting Specialist
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant / Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, analyzing financial data, and assisting with internal controls and reporting.The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate and organized financial records.Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheet accounts.
• Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage and track employee and business expenses.
• Prepare, process, and maintain customer and/or vendor invoices.
• Conduct internal audits and variance analyses to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
• Make recommendations based on financial performance and accounting data.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support and maintain internal accounting controls to help ensure accuracy and prevent fraud.
• Enter and update financial information within accounting systems.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and employee financial information.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or similar financial experience preferred.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience with accounting software is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
