Woodbridge Middle School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable 1:1 Personal Nurse / Nursing Aide to provide direct medical and personal care support for a middle school student during the school day. The ideal candidate will ensure the student's health, safety, access to education, and dignity while collaborating with school staff and the student's healthcare team.

Qualification requirements include being a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with current certification/training in Cough Assist Device Use, Suction Machine Operation, Feeding Tube Care/Management, Transfer Assist & Lift Operation, Toileting & Personal Care Support, Medication Administration, CPR Certified, AED Certified, First Aid (if not bundled with CPR). Pediatric or school-based nursing experience preferred. Experience supporting students with complex medical needs is also required. Strong documentation and organizational skills are necessary, along with a compassionate, patient, and student-centered approach. Ability to assist with lifting and transfers up to 50 pounds, push/pull medical equipment and wheelchair as needed, and respond quickly in emergency situations is essential.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing 1:1 medical support throughout the school day, operating and monitoring cough assist devices, utilizing suction machines as medically required, administering and managing feeding tube care and feedings, providing transfer assistance, assisting with toileting and personal hygiene, safely handling student lifts, administering prescribed medications per medical orders, monitoring student's health status and responding to needs promptly, maintaining accurate daily medical documentation and logs, following all district health plans, IEP/504 accommodations, and physician orders, collaborating with school nurse, therapists, and staff, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with FERPA/HIPAA guidelines, and participating in training, meetings, and professional development as required.
