Primary location: Marietta, Pennsylvania Relocation offered: No Employment status: Full-Time Travel: No Non-compete: No Estimated base salary range: $78,000 to $110,000 per year. Individual pay based on location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors. Process Engineer - Marietta, PA What You'll Be Doing Lead medium to large-scale projects focused on: Cost reduction New product development Process improvement Act as an owner of the business by identifying opportunities and driving critical manufacturing improvements Provide hands‑on technical support on the production floor to troubleshoot issues and improve performance Lead and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve plant performance objectives Conduct and support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to resolve process and material‑related issues Apply process improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) Monitor and audit key process control systems and continuous improvement initiatives Coach and train production operators on: Process control techniques Equipment capabilities Best practices Support plant safety initiatives through participation in safety audits and risk assessments Develop and revise raw material specifications to meet customer and operational requirements What's in It for You Opportunity to lead high‑impact projects that directly improve plant performance High visibility role with ownership over process improvements and operational success Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment with real‑time problem solving Exposure to advanced engineering and process improvement tools: Lean Six Sigma DOE SPC Opportunity to work cross‑functionally and influence multiple areas of the business Continuous learning through technical challenges and innovation Ability to build leadership skills by coaching operators and leading project teams Stable role with the opportunity to grow into broader technical or operational leadership roles What Will Make You Successful Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex process issues Ability to lead projects from concept through execution and deliver measurable results Effective communication skills to collaborate with operators, engineers, and leadership Hands‑on mindset with a willingness to spend time on the production floor Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Strong technical aptitude with the ability to apply data‑driven decision‑making Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma Ability to coach and influence others to adopt best practices and process improvements What Makes You Stand Out Experience in the ceiling tile, paper, or similar manufacturing industry Experience with wastewater treatment systems and environmental processes Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment Functional expertise in board formation or manufacturing materials processes Strong experience applying statistical tools (Minitab, DOE, SPC) in real‑world manufacturing settings Demonstrated success leading impactful process improvement initiatives with measurable results Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution Experience in process engineering or a technical role within a manufacturing environment Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills Proven ability to lead and execute projects across all phases Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab (preferred) Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies Ability to work off‑shift hours as needed to support plant initiatives Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Armstrong is committed to engaging a diverse, purpose‑driven workforce.
