Join us!THE PERSON: The ideal candidate brings deep technical credibility — enough to earn the trust of hardware architects, silicon engineers, and security operations teams alike — and the operational discipline to build programs that work across a global footprint of campus labs, colocation facilities, and large-scale compute farms.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lab & Facility SecurityDefine and enforce security standards across global labs and compute facilitiesPartner with facilities teams to embed security into lab design and operationsMaintain site-specific security plans for critical locationsCompute & Cyber-Physical SecurityEstablish security controls for large-scale compute environments (e.g., GPU clusters, AI farms)Enforce network segmentation, monitoring, and anomaly detectionMitigate risks at the intersection of physical and logical accessIP Protection & Insider ThreatLead protection of sensitive IP, including pre-release hardware and softwareDevelop insider threat controls and collaborate with HR, Legal, and SOCManage protocols for handling sensitive assets, visitors, and contractorsCompliance & Export ControlEnsure compliance with EAR, ISO, NIST, and other frameworksSupport audits, risk assessments, and control validationTranslate compliance standards into practical lab controlsVulnerability ManagementMonitor threats and vulnerabilities relevant to lab environmentsDrive remediation, patching, and exception processesReport security posture and metrics to leadershipPartner & Network SecurityDesign and govern secure connectivity with external partners (ODC/OSAT)Enforce network security standards (VPN, SD-WAN, ZTNA)Conduct partner risk assessments and access reviewsIncident Response & RiskLead response for lab-related security incidentsDevelop playbooks and conduct risk assessmentsMaintain risk register and report program maturityPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Background in semiconductor, hardware engineering, or other R&D-intensive industries where pre-release IP protection is mission-criticalExperience evaluating and securing connectivity to ODC (Outsourced Design Center) or OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) partners, or equivalent third-party manufacturing and engineering partners in the semiconductor supply chainExperience securing AI/ML compute infrastructure, including familiarity with GPU cluster deployments, fabric interconnects, and associated operational environmentsOne or more relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, GIAC or equivalentExperience working in or alongside a Security Operations Center (SOC), including familiarity with SIEM platforms, UEBA tools, and alert triage workflowsPrior experience in a role that required coordination across physical security, IT security, and legal/compliance functions simultaneouslyACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:BS/MS preferred  in related fieldSANS, MCSE, RHCSS, CISSP, CISA, CISM certification(s) This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.#LI-HYBRID#LI-AP1Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
