Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting 6th-12th grade students whose behavioral needs currently exceed what standard resources can offer, yet benefit from a school-based environment. You’ll work in a unique facility adapted from a retail space, intentionally designed for student safety and accessibility, located near Smyrna, TN, with a special assignment in Omaha, NE. This position starts ASAP and runs through the end of the school year, with the possibility for extension or permanent placement.
Desired Background:
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
- Experience supporting older students with significant, complex behavioral needs
- Strong collaboration skills with paraprofessionals, RBTs, and teaching staff
- Proven ability to develop, coach, and implement crisis plans and behavior interventions
- Understanding and/or experience in public or cooperative school settings
Role Highlights:
- Address challenging behaviors, including frequent elopement, self-injury, aggression, and hygiene-related incidents
- Collaborate closely with a robust support team: 10 paras/RBTs, several aides, and 2:1 staffing for some students
- Provide ongoing coaching and training for RBTs, teachers, and aides to promote consistent, effective interventions
- Lead functional behavior assessments, develop data-driven plans, and adjust supports as needed
- Help ensure safety and dignity for students, supporting integration within the school setting rather than isolation models
- Liaise with partnering districts to align programming and recommendations
As part of this assignment, you’ll have a key leadership role shaping the continuum of services and strategies for a group of physically larger, higher-needs adolescents. Your expertise in supporting staff and developing sustainable positive behavior supports will directly impact the quality of life for your students and team.
