Institutional Survey Research Specialist The Institutional Survey Research Specialist (ISRP) reports to the Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) for Institutional Survey Research and Analysis and works independently and on project teams across all phases of survey projects. The role focuses on cleaning, analyzing, and reporting qualitative data, maintaining survey web pages, and developing materials to promote participation and awareness of results. Responsibilities Conduct qualitative analyses of open‑end responses, including creating and updating coding schemes, handling personally identifiable information, cleaning comments for consistency, coding comments, generating summary statistics, identifying key findings, writing narrative summaries with supporting quotes, and preparing infographics such as word clouds. Create, organize, and maintain survey web pages in HTML, coordinating with the UDA Web Operations and Development Lead to ensure proper file naming conventions and accurate linking. Develop and maintain shared Google Drive environments for survey project materials, manage folder structures, and ensure ADA compliance and consistent naming conventions. Coordinate with survey team members to develop and distribute promotional materials (presentation slides, newsletter articles, emails, social media, flyers, e‑boards) to encourage participation and increase results awareness. Create spreadsheets with summary statistics for survey results, pulling data from large source files and highlighting results for specific respondent groups, including identification of significant differences. Document survey processes and recommend revisions to improve accuracy and efficiency. Participate in professional development workshops and staff meetings. Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet UDA or university goals and objectives. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and one year of related training or experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Coursework in survey research methods or work experience in a survey research setting. Other Required Qualifications Experience with qualitative analysis. Experience creating web pages (HTML, WordPress, Gutenberg). Experience creating visualizations (Excel, Google Charts, Publisher). High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). High level of proficiency working with Google Drives. Required personal and professional skills Ability to appropriately handle confidential data. Self‑motivated with high standards for rigorous, accurate, detailed work. Excellent communication skills, including writing, presentation, and interpersonal. Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and develop new skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data analysis tools (STATA, SPSS, R, Excel). Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey tools (Survey Monkey, Google Forms). Coursework or experience with qualitative analysis. Work experience in survey research. Required License(s) or Certification(s) No required license or certification. Valid NC Driver's License required. Employment Status and Compensation Full‑time, 12‑month recurring appointment. Anticipated hiring range: $52,000 – $57,000 (commensurate with education and experience). Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm; additional work outside standard hours may be required.
