Our mission is to support the people who care for vision with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to do their best work.We are looking for an independent, efficient, and highly motivated Senior Account Director to help us wow our clients and deliver top results. This individual will be instrumental in helping us make our mark in this rapidly expanding industry.The Senior Account Director will report to our VP of Client Services and will be responsible for working directly with Clients to orchestrate and execute content and campaigns such as written articles, advertising, email marketing, film projects, eBooks, and will work directly with KOLs regularly. The Senior Account Director will manage clients, build successful relationships, and effectively communicate with the internal content, marketing, and web engineering teams to execute effectively.What You'll OwnThe client relationship. You are the person your clients call. You'll run kickoffs, set expectations that hold, handle the hard conversations before they escalate, and know each account well enough to spot what they need before they ask. Several of these relationships route through agency partners, so you'll work both sides.Program execution. You'll translate signed work into a real plan, keep it current in our system of record, and drive it across Content, Design, Film, Marketing, and Engineering. This includes clinical and medical-legal review cycles, which are slow, exacting, and entirely learnable.Your team. You'll coach two to three Account Managers — not by reviewing their work, but by building their judgment until accounts can sit with them outright.KOLs and clinical partners. You'll work directly with the optometrists and ophthalmologists who host, write, and appear in our programs, and be the reason they want to work with us again.Growth and renewal. You'll know where every account stands on renewal, carry a real point of view on what should happen next, and work with Sales to shape it. When a program underdelivers, you'll be the one who raises it first.Results and readouts. You'll track campaign performance and bring it back to the client as a conversation about what worked and what comes next — not a deck that lands in an inbox.What will you be doing?Client communication and managementRegularly interface with Clients and agencies via phone and email to keep them updated on project statuses and to obtain feedback on deliverables.Consult with Clients as a true partner to deliver top-tier service and uncover innovative solutions for their most pressing needs.Independently manage client relationships.Occasionally meet with Clients at in-person events or trade shows to better understand their goals and strategize initiatives to meet them.Team and project managementHost kick-off calls with Clients to ensure projects start off on the right foot and are set up for success.Track campaign metrics and deliver results to Clients.Coach, lead, and cultivate the talent of other Account Directors, Managers and Account Coordinators on your team and devise strategies to ensure projects are efficiently managed.Translate client proposals into our internal project management system.Carefully track project statuses and deadlines and update other team members on what's needed.Track and resolve client edits to lengthy, written articles and multimedia pieces.Campaign strategy and executionWork with various graphic designers, editors, marketing professionals, and creative directors to conceptualize, plan, and ensure the successful launch of high-budget marketing, advertising, and content campaigns.Work with client and internal stakeholders to produce engaging and informative articles, ranging from in-depth clinical guides to "day in the life" interviews.Coordinate and oversee film shoots and work with our film specialist to craft short films.Business development and operational improvementsWork with our CEO, COO, and VP of Client Services to analyze new business opportunities and create unique pitch ideas to secure new Clients and grow existing business.Coordinate with doctor KOLs on clinical programming.Provide progress reports, updates, and critical Client information to our sales team in order to create a positive experience for Clients.Travel and event coverageTravel: roughly six to ten trips a year. Film shoots, industry trade shows, client meetings, doctor dinners, and our own live and/or hybrid events. Most are two to three days. They are not evenly spread but generally scheduled in advance — conference season is heavier than the rest of the year.Evening coverage: two to three nights a month, with the occasional weekend. We run live virtual events for our clients, and those happen when clinicians are free to attend — which means evenings, and sometimes Saturdays. You won't run every one of them, but you'll be on for the programs you own.This is a real part of the job, not a footnote. It's also where a lot of the work actually happens: the relationships that hold up under pressure tend to be the ones built at a shoot or in a green room at 7pm. If it sounds like the interesting part, you'll do well here.What are the required qualifications?7+ years of account management experience at a marketing agency5+ years of experience in managing content and marketing projectsExperience interfacing with Clients at large healthcare corporationsPeople management experienceExperience interfacing with marketing, content, designers, and product specialistsTop candidates will also have:Demonstrated experience retaining and/or expanding client accountsAgency experienceA background or experience in eyecareA note on qualifications:Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly.
