HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Job TitleJob DescriptionHelp- Performs heavy mobile equipment mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as, fire-crash trucks, 50,000 (50K) pound capacity container handlers, bulldozers, power shovels, road graders, mobile cranes, and special purpose equipment.- Performs automotive mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining vehicles including forklifts, tow tractors, truck tractors and trailers, sweeper trucks, wreckers, busses, vans, ambulances, pickup trucks, and sedans.- Uses diagnostic tools, orders parts, completes documentation, and provides training and assistance to others.- Designs, fabricates, alters, and locally manufactures parts.- Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
