Housekeeping Assistant

Colonial Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Colonial Heights, VA is seeking housekeeping team members to help make a difference in someone's life!

As a professional Housekeeping Assistant on our team, you'll take pride in cleaning and maintaining a clean, sanitary environment, minimizing any infection risk. Promotes and enhances the safety of patients, families, and staff. Maintains standards of operational practice. Maintains a professional appearance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains all assigned ancillary and department areas and corridors in a clean neat and sanitary manner, to protect safety and health of others and in compliance with accurate preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy.
• Inspects and uses judgment in determining which cleaning techniques outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
• Keeps cart properly stocked with equipment and cleaning supplies; ensures all chemicals are accurately labeled, and all equipment is in good working condition.
• Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, maintains professional conduct at all times.
• Cleans and services patient rooms, baths, offices, dining rooms, and other ancillary areas.

Dusts furniture and equipment, cleans windows and windowsills, empties and washes trash receptacles.

Ensure odor control.

Inspects all rooms/areas for safety violations or damage and reports these issues to the supervisor.

Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the center.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Past cleaning experience preferred
• Attention to detail
• Ability to effectively follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to respond effectively to changing demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
