Opportunity Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Lead Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both digital and analog circuit design, excellent technical expertise in high-speed interfaces, embedded computer design, and in-depth knowledge of PCB design constraints, including stack-ups and manufacturing processes. This role requires someone who is not only technically proficient but also a strong leader capable of mentoring and guiding a team of less-experienced engineers while ensuring project timelines are met. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation, maintaining team alignment, and reporting progress to upper management. Key Responsibilities Design and develop digital and analog circuits for cutting-edge applications Create and review schematics and ensure proper implementation within project constraints. Work on high-speed interfaces, including evaluating signal integrity and ensuring compliance with design standards. Develop and implement embedded computer system designs. Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to ensure designs meet constraints, including stack-up requirements, impedance control, routing, and manufacturability. Provide guidance on PCB fabrication and assembly processes, ensuring designs meet quality and performance standards. Provide technical guidance and training to junior and mid-level engineers to help them develop their skills, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation. Take ownership of team deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Drive hardware engineering projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting as priorities shift. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, software, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of hardware solutions Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies in hardware engineering. A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in hardware design, with a strong emphasis on both digital and analog circuit design. Proven experience with high-speed interface design (e.g., PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet, etc.) and signal integrity analysis. Extensive knowledge of embedded computer systems, including microprocessors, FPGAs, and peripheral integration. Strong expertise in PCB design, including constraints, stack-ups, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in schematic entry tools (e.g., Cadence/Allegro, Altium Designer, OrCAD, etc.). Familiarity with simulation tools for signal and power integrity analysis. Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles. Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, creating a positive environment. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to management and collaborating with stakeholders. Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $141,400-$226,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location. Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
