Field Safety Representative

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc., the leading asphalt manufacturer, and road builder in the Southeast, have an immediate opening for a Field Safety Representative. This position will provide safety site support visits to our asphalt operations in Middle Tennessee. The Safety Representative will be expected to spend approximately 85% of their time in the field. This position will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to the safety of our employees and the traveling public in the State of Tennessee.


Principal Duties: Below are the duties that are priorities to the individual selected for the position:

• Good communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• No fear of public speaking
• Ability to conduct training to large groups
• Confidence in making decisions
• Able to travel within the state (possible overnight)
• Provide Site Support visits all divisions including night work
• Approachable personality and ability to build working relationships with fellow employees and supervision
• General understanding of road construction including bridge, grading, and asphalt construction.
• Have valid driver's license
• Time Management Skills
