Role Summary:
Experienced L3 Storage & Backup Engineer responsible for providing advanced support for enterprise Storage, SAN, Backup, and Data Protection platforms across Production and DR environments. The role serves as the primary technical escalation point for complex incidents, driving troubleshooting, RCA, capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness to ensure high availability and reliability of critical infrastructure.

- Backup: Rubrik (Production / DR / POC)
- SAN: Cisco SAN Switches
Key Responsibilities
- Provide l3 support and technical expertise for storage, san, backup, and data protection platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents related to storage performance, san connectivity, backup, and recovery.
- Manage storage provisioning, replication, migrations, and capacity planning across enterprise environments.
- Administer and optimize rubrik backup and recovery operations for production and dr environments.
- Configure and support cisco san zoning, fabric management, and fibre channel connectivity.
- Support and maintain data domain and mainframe disk library infrastructure.
- Lead major incident resolution, perform root cause analysis (rca), and implement permanent fixes.
- Execute infrastructure upgrades, patching, and change implementations with minimal business impact.
- Support disaster recovery testing, failover/failback activities, and recovery validation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and drive service improvements.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity, providing proactive recommendations.
- Mentor l1/l2 teams and maintain operational documentation, sops, and knowledge articles.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Pure Storage, Dell EMC PowerMax, PowerStore, and NetApp storage platforms.
- Expertise in Rubrik Backup Administration , including backup, restore, retention, and DR operations.
- Experience with Cisco SAN Switches , Fibre Channel architecture, zoning, and fabric management.
- Knowledge of Data Domain and Mainframe Disk Library administration and support.
- Strong understanding of storage provisioning, replication, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex Storage, SAN, and Backup issues in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting Production and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive issue resolution with internal and vendor teams.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Mentor l1/l2 teams and maintain operational documentation, sops, and knowledge articles.
