3-12 hour shifts with a 35-hour guarantee; scheduling will be 36 hours with 2 days at 24th place and 1 day at Ada.

Job Description

A Respiratory Therapist (RT) is a healthcare professional specialized in diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory issues. RTs work in various medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, home care, and rehabilitation centers. They utilize equipment like ventilators and oxygen therapy to assist patients experiencing breathing difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues, reviewing medical history and conducting physical exams.
• Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and chest physiotherapy.
• Set up and monitor respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency respiratory situations, providing immediate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions and using respiratory devices.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for respiratory patients.
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
• Assist in pulmonary rehabilitation programs aimed at improving respiratory function and reducing symptoms.

Required Experience

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program with an associate's or bachelor's degree.
• Current certification as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably CRT or RRT credential.
• State licensure to practice as required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
• Licensure is required in all states, which may include state-specific certification processes.
