Part-Time Food Pantry Coordinator

Position Summary: The YMCA is seeking a compassionate and organized Part-Time Food Pantry Coordinator to oversee daily operations of our community food pantry. This role ensures that families and individuals in need are served with dignity, respect, and efficiency, in alignment with the YMCA’s mission of strengthening community through healthy living and social responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate daily pantry operations including food distribution, inventory management, and cleanliness of pantry space Maintain accurate records of food received, distributed, and current inventory levels Schedule and supervise volunteers assisting with pantry duties Develop and maintain partnerships with local food banks, grocery stores, and donors Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines related to food storage and handling Engage positively with pantry guests, providing excellent customer service and referrals to other support services as needed Assist in organizing seasonal food drives and fundraising events Prepare and submit reports as required by the YMCA and partner agencies Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred Experience in food service, nonprofit work, or community outreach is a plus Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods Comfortable working in a diverse and fast-paced environment Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA Benefits: Free YMCA membership Professional development opportunities Meaningful work supporting local families and community well-being WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
