Paralegal Sierra Vista Office

The Sierra Vista Office covers Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties. SALA serves 9 counties in Arizona and 11 Indian Reservations. The office is comprised of a Managing Attorney, Staff Attorney, and two paralegals. The position requires substantial team and client focused initiatives and will involve extensive interactions with clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting attorneys; assisting with trial preparation, interviewing clients; drafting of documents and correspondence; e-filing in both state and federal courts; gathering and organizing documents and other data; maintaining files; participation in weekly unit case-staffing meetings; and other duties as required. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have initiative; excellent communication skills; ability to think critically and the ability to work well in a diverse and multi-cultural setting; and sensitivity to the problems of the low-income community. Paralegal degree or certification a plus; experience in the legal profession may be considered in lieu of education or certification. Ability to interpret and translate from English to Spanish. Compensation Salary range depending on experience: $32,005 – $55,609; up to 5% additional compensation available to individuals fluent in a language other than English, which is used by more than 10% of SALA’s eligible client population.
