Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Virginia Beach, Virginia

An opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to provide expert inpatient pharmacy services at a medical center in Virginia Beach, VA. This contract assignment is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 26, following Labor Day, and will last for 13 weeks. The position involves rotating shifts to accommodate patient care needs.


Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing drug interactions, and ensuring accurate order entry. Strong expertise in IV therapy, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotic management is required. Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is preferred, enhancing the ability to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care.


Candidates should have a minimum of one year of inpatient pharmacy experience, with travel pharmacy experience regarded as an asset. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records for medication charting is mandatory, emphasizing familiarity with clinical workflow and documentation standards within the healthcare setting.


Desired Experience:

• At least 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience
• IV therapy, pain-controlled analgesia, antibiotic management
• Drug interaction management and medication order verification
• EPIC EMR charting proficiency (required)
• Preferred: chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing
• Travel pharmacy experience preferred
