Description: The position involves assisting with endoscopic procedures. Technicians share weeknight call coverage and rotate weekend call coverage. There are two procedure rooms and 15 preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit beds. Techs handle high volumes of inpatient and outpatient cases including EGD, colonoscopy, complex EUS, ERCP, and stone management. Experience in advanced skills for EBUS and ION is preferred. Manual scope washing and handling skills, along with high-level disinfection skills in Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro, are required. Proficiency in general GI skills for biopsy, snare, GI bleed management, injections, lifting agents, banding, and dilation using balloon or Maloney dilators is essential. Shifts typically run from 0700 to 1730, but may flex based on case volumes, especially during weekends which can have 10 or more cases per day. Rotating weeknight and weekend call are required, often including late cases during the weekdays and a weekend day with an extensive case lineup. Shared holiday call may also be necessary. The response time for call duties is 30 minutes. Scrubs are provided for the position. The facility experiences high volumes of advanced GI cases daily.
