Manager, Supply Chain

Job Description

Manages, plans, organizes, and evaluates the staff and activities and assists in the management and replenishment of material functions within all supply locations. Responsible for quality improvement, process redesign, benchmarking, and education of the Materials Management process; assists in strategic planning related to Materials Management operations and participates in the development and application of policies and procedures, as requested. Maintains all records relevant to Materials Management supply and equipment, and coordinates all repair and loaner services.

Job Responsibility

• Provides leadership to Supply Chain team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
• Manages inventory and supplies to ensure positive patient outcomes; ensures the delivery of effective Customer Service through maintenance of efficient requisition processing; monitors requisition processing time frames, inventory service levels, fill rates, and associated expense.
• Manages Materials Management functions, ensuring optimum utilization of manpower, equipment and space, providing efficient and effective requisition processing, inventory handling and storage.
• Advises the leadership, and relevant clinical leadership, of outside vendor supplies which have not been received; contacts sales representatives as necessary; develops efficient delivery service schedules, and adjusts daily work assignments based on departmental need.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget, while providing written commentary regarding performance of budget, productivity and asset control performance, detailing any deficiencies and planned corrective action regularly.
• Serves as a liaison between Materials Management and other departments, to facilitate the smooth operations of the supply chain process, and achieve problem resolution.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of internal Materials Management Information the health systems, which enhance efficient and effective materials flow to support the patient care models and departmental operations.
• Organizes and maintains a manual/computerized the health system of record keeping related to equipment repairs, loaners, and consignment items; participates, as required, as a member of the appropriate Value Analysis Teams.
• Participates in education of new staff members as well as ongoing educational programs for all staff, and integrates knowledge into performance improvement activities and clinical practice.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and internal inspections.

Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
