Senior Vice President, Public Affairs

Overview The Senior Vice President works with a wide range of clients, including corporate, philanthropic, nonprofit and issue advocacy, and supports the work of the firm to create deliverables that are creative, strong, and helps meet clients' goals. Responsibilities Fully managing clients and client teams, including independently delivering strategic advice and expanding relationships with existing clients. Serving as chief strategist for all client teams. Maintaining and nurturing high‑level press and third‑party external contacts. Providing fiscal stewardship of firm resources and client budgets. Providing mentorship and leadership to SKDK staff. Qualifications 12+ years of relevant experience in writing, research, and media‑intensive positions such as political campaigns, in media, government, agency, or similar organizations. A commitment to creating an inclusive workplace, working collaboratively and with consideration for others. Deep experience placing national print and broadcast stories and booking principals on television. Strong writing and research skills with thorough knowledge of AP Style. A working knowledge of social media strategies for communications campaigns. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines. Benefits SKDK is committed to payout equity. SKDK believes the target range of base compensation in this role is $165,000-$185,000. In addition to base salary, SKDK considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to an annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
