Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the quality, safety, and appearance of T.R. McKenzie properties. You will maintain our apartment communities, prepare vacant apartments for new residents, complete resident work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and help keep our communities clean, safe, and market-ready.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied, hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and delivers outstanding customer service to residents.

What You'll Do

• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents and maintain market-ready standards

• Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and work orders

• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies

• Perform plumbing, appliance, electrical, lock, smoke detector, and screen repairs

• Complete preventative maintenance tasks

• Perform daily pool maintenance, including cleaning, water testing, and chemical balancing (seasonal)

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of grounds, common areas, and maintenance shops

• Communicate maintenance concerns and property issues to the Property Manager

• Properly use and maintain company tools, equipment, and materials

• Keep accurate maintenance records as required

• Provide exceptional customer service and professionalism in every resident interaction

A Day in the Role

• Complete assigned work efficiently and accurately

• Prioritize resident service requests appropriately

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, and follow company safety procedures

• Collaborate with fellow maintenance technicians and property staff

• Assist at other T.R. McKenzie properties when needed

• Represent T.R. McKenzie professionally at all times

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Availability for evening and weekend on-call rotations

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

• Ability to regularly lift up to 20 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and maintenance materials

• Ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment

• Ability to climb ladders up to 28 feet and work at heights

• Ability to travel between properties and assist other maintenance teams as needed

• Regular attendance and participation in required meetings and training sessions
