Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Rehab & Inpatient Med Surg | Travel Contract

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established care plans.

• Perform patient assessments and report changes in condition.

• Obtain and accurately record vital signs.

• Assist physicians and registered nurses with patient care procedures.

• Administer medications and injections as ordered.

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.

• Observe and document patient responses to treatments and interventions.

• Maintain patient rooms, examination rooms, and clinical work areas.

• Assist with patient scheduling, chart preparation, and administrative duties.

• Coordinate referrals and insurance authorizations as needed.

• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for documentation.

• Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives.

• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Preferred:

• Prior inpatient hospital experience.

• Phlebotomy experience.

• IV insertion experience.

• EKG application experience.

• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

• Med/Surg, Rehab, or Emergency Department experience.

Requirements:

• Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.

• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required.

• Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification.

• Experience providing patient care in an acute care setting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays.
