Job Description Job Description Minimum 1+ years social worker experience required. School Social Worker Location: Waukee, IA Job Type: Full-Time Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with a range of issues, including mental health challenges, family dynamics, and social skills. Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create and implement strategies that support students' social and emotional development. Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure students receive necessary support and services. Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in emergency situations. Develop and deliver professional development sessions and workshops for staff on topics related to social-emotional learning and mental health. Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with special needs. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, interventions, and progress. Qualifications: Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Valid Iowa School Social Worker License or eligibility for licensure. Experience working as a social worker in a school setting or with children and families preferred. Strong knowledge of social work principles, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
