Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides assisting and medication dispensing support under pharmacist supervision in a hospital setting. Responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and delivering medications to nursing units to ensure patient care continuity.

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and accurately match them with labeled drugs for dispensing.
• Restock and maintain floor stock, including removing expired medications and rotating stock.
• Prepare IV medications following applicable laws and regulations.
• Check in deliveries from wholesalers and suppliers, processing returns and back orders promptly.
• Distribute medications and maintain proper documentation and filing.
• Perform other medication-related duties as needed to support pharmacy operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid State Pharmacy Technician license in CA.
• Have at least two years of recent hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Possess IV administration experience and proficiency with Epic pharmacy system.
• Preferably hold a Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification in CA and OR.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
