Designer

Our client, a national food delivery marketplace in NYC, is seeking a Digital Designer to join their growth marketing team on a freelance basis. This is a junior-to-mid level role built for a digitally-native designer with motion and video chops, exceptional typography, and a sharp eye for craft across paid social, animation, and performance-driven creative. The ideal candidate comes from a growth or social agency background, understands how great design performs in the feed, and is excited to grow within a fast-moving, high-output environment. This is not a senior or art director level role — we're looking for someone a few years into their career who brings real taste, technical range, and hunger to do great work.

• This is a freelance to hire role. Hybrid 2-3 days in NYC office. Rate is $40-45/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Design and produce paid social assets, animated content, video edits, carousels, stories, and digital ads across platforms with a strong focus on performance and visual quality.
• Execute motion graphics and animation for social and paid channels, bringing energy and craft to every deliverable.
• Build emails, web assets, and supporting graphic design work as needed across the broader growth marketing team.
• Translate creative briefs and brand direction into polished, production-ready digital assets with a clear understanding of how design performs in paid environments.
• Support high-volume creative workstreams across multiple campaigns simultaneously, maintaining quality and consistency throughout.
• Collaborate closely with growth marketers, creative leads, and cross-functional partners to bring campaigns to life quickly and effectively.
• Iterate on creative based on performance data, feedback, and evolving campaign needs.

Required Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of professional experience in digital design with a portfolio demonstrating strong typography, motion, and paid social creative.
• Hands-on experience with video editing, animation, and motion graphics — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
• Background in a growth marketing, social, or performance agency environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects; video editing experience required.
• Exceptional typographic sensibility and graphic design fundamentals.
• Ability to work quickly and independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment without sacrificing craft.
• Strong attention to detail and genuine excitement about the intersection of design and performance marketing.
• Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing specifically for paid social platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Familiarity with email design and basic web asset production.
• Comfort working across multiple brands or campaigns simultaneously.
