About the Role

• An established engineering consulting firm specializing in advanced building controls and hands-on project delivery is seeking a driven and experienced Senior Energy Engineer to join their growing team.
• This is a high-impact role for a self-starter who thrives in client-facing environments and enjoys owning projects from concept through implementation. You will work directly with senior client stakeholders across major medical campuses, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical, and industrial facilities — helping them reduce energy use, optimize system performance, and deliver measurable value.

What You’ll Do

• Lead energy analysis efforts with strong technical rigor and practical application.
• Develop energy models using software tools and spreadsheet-based analysis.
• Apply energy economics principles to guide decision-making and project recommendations.
• Conduct and support energy audits and retro-commissioning initiatives.
• Define strategic roadmaps that align energy initiatives with client objectives.
• Translate limited or evolving client input into clear, value-driven solutions.
• Collaborate directly with senior-level client stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Work closely with project managers, technical teams, subcontractors, and other partners to implement energy projects successfully.
• Delegate and mentor junior team members to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables.

What You Bring

• Strong analytical and technical foundation in energy engineering.
• Experience with energy modelling tools and advanced spreadsheet analysis.
• Knowledge of energy economics and financial evaluation of projects.
• Understanding of energy audits and retro-commissioning best practices.
• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work on or ahead of schedule.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with client leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional engineering or energy-related credentials (PE, CEM, or similar).
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) / Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Familiarity with regional utility incentive programs.
• Knowledge of energy project finance and funding methods.
• Current Covid and Flu Vaccination may be required in order to be considered for the position due to client contract requirements.
