Job Details POSITION SUMMARY The Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial integrity through accurate preparation, review, and analysis of accounting records and financial reports. This role ensures compliance with reporting standards and internal controls, supports general ledger maintenance, and contributes to timely month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes. The position works closely with internal and external stakeholders and may provide guidance to junior staff to support effective team operations. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis Assist in documenting accounting procedures and controls Conduct moderately complex assignments involving accounting projects and the day-to-day maintenance of a general ledger Identify inconsistencies and problems and communicate them to management Perform appropriate accounting controls Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities Interact with internal and external customers May provide guidance to less experienced staff, helping to coordinate routine activities to support team operations. Supervisory Responsibilities Serve as an Individual Contributor without supervisory responsibilities. Support and contribute towards team goals and objectives. LEVELING The Accountant performs work under general supervision and applies developing professional knowledge to moderately complex assignments, . contributes to project deliverables, resolves routine issues, and seeks guidance for unfamiliar or complex matters. Required Skills & Abilities Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of internal controls documentation Understanding of accounting information systems Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Strong analytical ability and organization skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Working knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures. Education & Work Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field -and- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or related field. - OR - Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent -and- At least 7 years of experience in accounting or related field Physical Requirements Remain stationary for extended periods of time, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Lift, push, and/or pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery as necessary. Communicate with others to accurately exchange information and ideas. Hear sufficiently to allow general and phone communications. Visual acuity to read standard text on screens and documents, observe surroundings, recognize hazards, and perform tasks safely.
