Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care in the Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and gynecological surgical postoperative care.

Shift and Schedule

12-hour night shifts
Rotating weekends and holidays
36 guaranteed hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to labor and delivery patients, including high-risk cases.
Administer postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
Offer care for gynecological surgery patients in the postoperative phase.
Utilize fetal monitoring and OBIX documentation systems.
Prepare and reconcile patient records in the EPIC system.
Assist in the neonatal nursery and NICU as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and gynecological nursing.
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
STABLE certification is preferred but not required.
Willingness to float between units as required.
Candidates must have a valid nursing license.

Unit Information

Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
Bed Capacity: 19 rooms
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and 1:4 for gynecological care.

Orientation and Training

A comprehensive orientation program spanning 36 hours will be provided for all travelers to ensure a smooth transition into the unit.

Dress Code

Uniforms should consist of navy blue scrubs or hospital-provided scrubs for Labor and Delivery nursing tasks.
