Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - PACU nurse for a 13-week assignment requiring 5 years of RN experience, including 3 years in PACU, at a teaching hospital. Details Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting Day shift schedule (5x8-hour shifts) with variable start times, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Patient ratio of 1:2 Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed Must be able to work in preop and extended care units Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active CA RN license required BSN required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS CCRN or CPAN certification preferred 5 years of RN experience required, including 3 years of PACU experience 2 years of critical care experience preferred Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Knowledge of airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management required Prior travel nursing experience required 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration Additional Information Provide perianesthesia nursing care including airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management Care for surgical patients across multiple specialties including ENT, GI, ophthalmology, gynecology, robotics, and urology Support pre-op, Phase I and Phase II PACU, and extended care patient needs Skills such as IV therapy, central line care, and arterial line management are utilized in this role Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract RTO cannot be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit Pay $2,694/wk Weekly Wages $1,000/wk Regular Hours $25.00 x 40 hours/wk = $1,000 Weekly Stipends $1,694/wk Lodging $174.03 x 7 days = $1,218 Meals & Incidentals
