Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Approximately 2–3 holidays per year

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 90-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 on days
• Manage a patient population with common diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, AKI, radiation patients, and occasional post-surgical cases (lap chole, appendectomy)
• Administer and monitor non-titrated drip infusions including Heparin and Lasix
• Collaborate with Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) and a dedicated telemetry monitor technician; travelers are not required to independently read telemetry
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP and stable tracheostomy patients
• Float as needed to MedSurg, stable low-acuity ICU, and RDU settings

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 1 year in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry specialty
• Recent experience in a Trauma Level I or II hospital setting
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (recent and demonstrated experience required)
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to comply with scheduling requirements including no blocked scheduling requests and no more than 5 days of requested time off

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience managing patients on telemetry monitoring in an acute care environment
• Familiarity with BiPAP and stable tracheostomy care
