Emergency Veterinarian – Clinical Mentor Salary Range: $150,000.00 – $240,000.00 Base + Commission/year Position Type: Full-Time About Apex Vets Apex Vets is an independently owned Emergency & Specialty Hospital located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our Emergency & Critical Care team as a Clinical Mentor. The Clinical Mentor serves as a resource for less experienced ER doctors by providing case guidance, clinical support, and real-time feedback while helping maintain a high standard of patient care. Responsibilities Manage a full emergency caseload including triage, diagnostics, treatment planning, and case management Provide clinical support and guidance to ER doctors on shift Assist with case discussions and medical decision-making Support the development of newer emergency veterinarians Perform emergency procedures including centeses, CPR, wound repair, and stabilization Interpret diagnostics including laboratory work, radiographs, and point-of-care ultrasound Communicate effectively with clients, specialists, and referring veterinarians Maintain accurate and timely medical records Qualifications DVM or VMD from an accredited institution Licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland Significant emergency medicine experience required Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Interest in mentoring and developing other veterinarians Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Schedule Combination of day, swing, and overnight shifts Shared weekend rotation Full-time position Benefits Competitive base salary plus production Ownership opportunities for qualified candidates Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer contributions Continuing education allowance and CE time Professional liability coverage Paid time off Professional development opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
