Project Architect/Senior Job Captain

A San Diego-based architectural studio is currently looking for a Project Architect/Senior Job Captain to join its collaborative team environment. In this full-time position, you will work directly with principals and project managers on architectural projects, primarily multi-family housing and education projects. As a team member, you'll be involved in all project phases, attend job sites, participate in meetings, and have diverse responsibilities, with opportunities for growth through mentorship in our close-knit, collaborative atmosphere. Job Captain/Architect Responsibilities Lead the development and organization of Revit models, collaborating with both in‑house teams and external consultants. Oversee the preparation and coordination of comprehensive construction documents, including detailed project design and technical detailing. Ensure all construction documents comply with relevant building and zoning codes. Coordinate the consultant team throughout all project phases. Oversee the permitting and plan check process with local jurisdictions. Establish and maintain project schedules, deliverables, and key milestones. Assign and coordinate team tasks, goals, and deliverables to ensure project success. Support quality assurance reviews and assist in maintaining high standards across all project documents. Contribute to design development and assist with design presentations. Participate in construction administration and coordination efforts.
