Heavy Equipment Operator

Safety-Conscious Equipment OperatorWe are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join the team at Post Oak Landfill in Luling, TX. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but willing to train the right candidate.The position is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday start time 6am-5:30pm with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week.Duties And Responsibilities:Perform Maintenance around the site and facilities as neededSpreading and compacting trash using a CompactorSpreading daily cover using a DozerExcavating soil using an ExcavatorHauling soilMinimum Job Requirements:Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferredMust demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facilityMust become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readilyAble to work outside in all weather conditionsMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedlyMust be able to operate a D6 or biggerWe offer excellent benefits including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, long term disability, life insurance, 401K retirement.Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
