Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Acute Medicine)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medicine Unit in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population requiring acute medical attention.

The successful candidate will work 12-hour night shifts, three days per week, contributing to a collaborative healthcare team. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
• Perform wound care, IV insertion, and other clinical procedures according to established protocols.
• Accurately document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical or Acute Medicine.

• Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
