Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
This contract-based Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room involves providing specialized perioperative care for a variety of surgical procedures. The role requires an experienced RN to support a busy OR unit with a focus on safety, collaboration, and efficient patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver postoperative and intraoperative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Prepare the OR by ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and functioning correctly.
• Assist surgeons and surgical technologists during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any changes or complications.
• Document patient care and surgical procedures accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Comply with all safety protocols, policies, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license with a minimum of 1 year OR experience.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Proven experience in Neuro/Spine and Cardiac surgical procedures.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, with weekend charge nurse responsibilities.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Candidates must have neuro/spine and cardiac experience to be considered.
