Insurance Defense Attorney Location: Austin, TX Position: Full Remote Experience Level: Open to mid-level or senior candidates About the Role A well-established litigation firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate has strong litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. This role involves representing insureds and insurance carriers in a broad range of civil matters throughout Texas. Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage an active litigation docket
- Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions.
- Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
- Prepare clients, adjusters, witnesses, and experts for depositions and testimony.
- Evaluate claims, assess exposure, and communicate case strategy to carriers and clients.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license with the Texas Bar (in good standing).
- 6-10+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience required.
- Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to handle a litigation caseload with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
