Electrical Controls Technician

Electrical Control Technician Starting Pay : $40/hr Location : 910 Elm St, McKinney, Tx, 75069 Schedule : 7pm - 7am Position Overview As an Electrical Control Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical reliability of our equipment and systems. You will apply advanced diagnostics, deep technical knowledge, and a strong commitment to safety to help ensure our manufacturing operations perform at the highest standard. Job Responsibilities Support safe and reliable performance of equipment across the facility: troubleshoot, repair, and restore machinery and electrical systems across all production areas. Maintain and support electrical infrastructure, including AC/DC drives, motors, sensors, and control systems. Apply mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise to optimize equipment operation. Diagnose faults in motors, drives, circuits, electronic components, and plant control systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, control drawings, and technical manuals. Navigate PLC programs for troubleshooting, communications diagnostics, and basic controlled edits. Support Ethernet-based communications systems through device connection, network analysis, and integration. Perform equipment testing with diagnostic instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized electrical tools. Select replacement electrical components when OEM parts are unavailable. Identify root causes of equipment failure and support long-term corrective actions to improve safety, quality, and reliability. Job Requirements Strong technical knowledge of AC and DC drive systems. Thorough understanding of speed feedback devices, theory, and operation. Working knowledge of temperature controls, sensors, and thermal components. Strong understanding of PID loops, control logic, and automated processes. Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet communications, industrial networks, and connectivity issues. Proficiency with PLC and HMI systems, including communications paths, program navigation, and controlled edits. Deep understanding of electrical circuits, components, and power electronics. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, test, and repair motors, drives, and electrical control systems. Hands‑on experience with electrical diagnostic tools and instrumentation. Ability to select alternative components when original parts are unavailable. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role operates within a fast‑paced, high‑performance production environment where you may encounter loud noise and extreme temperatures, indoor and outdoor working conditions. Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping; use of hands for tools, diagnostic devices, and electrical components; lifting up to 50 lbs. while bending, twisting, or standing.
