Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Provide critical emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment as part of a dedicated team serving a regional referral center. Responsible for managing diverse patient cases, including trauma, cardiac, psychiatric, and complex medical conditions, across all age groups.

Responsibilities:

• Administer emergency care by independently managing patients with complex trauma, cardiac, psychiatric, and critical medical conditions.
• Perform clinical procedures including IV placement, arterial blood gas analysis, and telemetry monitoring.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records, specifically Epic.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, quality treatment and patient safety.
• Maintain current certifications and qualifications required for emergency nursing practice.
• Adapt quickly to fast-paced, high-risk scenarios, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of Alaska or eligible for licensure with application submission.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of emergency room nursing experience preferred; 1 year required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac management, telemetry, ABG interpretation, and IV skills across all ages.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC; telemedicine or additional trauma certifications advantageous.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
