Client Partner

We’re looking for a VP of Client Development to join the Tapestry team in North America! Reports to: Commercial Director Location: US-based (East Coast preferred for UK overlap). Flexible hours required. Contract type: Full-time The Role We’re looking for a credible, consultative VP of Client Development who combines genuine research expertise with the ability to build long-term client relationships and win business. This isn’t a black book, cold-outreach hunting role – we’re not expecting someone who arrives with a ready-made list of contacts to convert quickly. We’re looking for someone who builds genuine, high-quality relationships over time, rooted in real methodological credibility. You’ll combine research fluency with commercial instinct – comfortable holding peer-to-peer conversations with senior Insights Directors, CMOs and Brand Heads about their business challenges, and translating that into proposals and won business. Ex-researcher background or deep market research literacy is essential – this person stays meaningfully involved in projects after a deal is won, not just at the point of sale. Sector Focus This hire will own and drive growth within one of two priority verticals – Sports & Entertainment, or Health, Wellness & Beauty – leveraging Tapestry’s existing sector thought leadership, frameworks (e.g. LoveQuotient) and research experience. Key Responsibilities Build genuine, credible relationships with senior decision-makers in the target sector over time – through events, networking, thought leadership and warm introductions, not primarily cold outreach Lead consultative discovery conversations, connecting clients’ real business challenges to Tapestry’s methodology and point of difference Own the proposal process from initial conversation through to close, working closely with UK and US consulting teams Represent Tapestry at industry events and conferences, building visibility and credibility in-market Stay meaningfully involved in projects once won – present at key moments like kick-offs, client check-ins and final presentations – rather than handing off entirely to delivery teams Work closely with UK leadership, with flexible hours to support US/UK collaboration Candidate Profile Genuine research background or deep market research literacy – able to hold technical, credible conversations about business challenges and methodologies Proven track record in the sector (Sports & Entertainment, or Health, Wellness & Beauty) is highly valued Proven ability to build long-term client relationships, not just close transactional deals Comfortable with a longer, relationship-led sales cycle – genuinely energised by trust-building over speed Self-starter, entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity – able to build a market presence from scratch Strong written and verbal communication, pitch and presentation skills Comfortable working autonomously and remotely, with strong self-management Existing sector contacts are a bonus, not a requirement – we prioritise credibility and consultative skill over a ready-made network Likely 8+ years of experience across research and/or commercial roles Compensation, targets and performance metrics for this role will be discussed in detail as part of the interview process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
