HACKENSACK BOARD OF EDUCATION ENGLISH TEACHER 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR Title: English Teacher Job Description: The English Teacher provides rigorous, culturally responsive English language arts instruction for students in grades5-8 and/or 9 12. The teacher develops students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, research, and critical-thinking skills through the study of literature, nonfiction, language, rhetoric, and composition. Qualifications:
- Hold a New Jersey instructional English Teacher certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge of secondary English language arts curriculum, adolescent literacy, writing instruction, literary analysis, and research-based instructional practices.
- Ability to plan and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, multilingual learners, and students receiving academic intervention.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
