Dayporter / Custodian

Westmoreland Academy is looking for a proactive, dependable Dayporter to keep our facilities clean, organized, and ready for students, staff, and visitors. You'll play an essential behind-the-scenes role in supporting a positive school experience every day.

What You'll Do

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas
• Maintain restrooms and restock supplies
• Remove trash and recycling and keep spaces orderly
• Sweep, mop, dust, and spot-clean carpets, walls, doors, and high-touch surfaces
• Keep lunchroom and coffee areas clean and welcoming
• Respond to service requests and emergency calls
• Support special event setups and school activities
• Proactively inspect facilities and address cleanliness needs

Qualifications

• GED + 2 years of general maintenance, custodial, and/or landscape experience
• Successful FBI and state background check
• Negative TB test

Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work in a moderate-to-loud environment that may occasionally be emotionally challenging.
• Ability to carry, push, pull, and move objects such as desks, chairs, and boxes.
• Frequent and prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and crouching.
• Ability to physically prompt and escort students when necessary.
• Ability to safely perform student physical management and containment in accordance with PRO-ACT, CPI, and/or other approved behavioral intervention practices.
